Are there different methods for manufacturing cellular concrete?
Cellular concrete is commonly manufactured by two different methods:
Method 1 consists of mixing a pre-formed foam mixture from a foam generator machine into the cement and water slurry. The quality of these foams will vary with the manufacturer of the liquid foam concentrate and with the type of foam generation equipment used.
Method 2 consists of the addition of reactive substances, which produce gas bubbles when in contact with the cement and water slurry. The quality of these mixes will vary with a variety of elements – ambient temperature, physical properties of the individual batch of reactive substance, shear action of the mixer, time of mixing action, and a host of other variables.
